Tips for puzzle games

• Solve the edges first — in sorting, matching and jigsaw-style puzzles alike, the constrained pieces have the fewest options and reveal the rest.
• If you've stared at a puzzle for two minutes with no new idea, change the question: instead of 'what goes here?', ask 'what can't go anywhere else?'
• Use hints like potions, not like water. One hint spent on the puzzle that's blocking a whole quest chain is worth ten spent out of impatience.
